Rev. Sandra Bargman
I am an Ordained Interfaith Minister and Inter-spiritual Counselor.
In June 2007, I was ordained by The Interfaith Temple in New York City in a beautiful ordination ceremony at St. John The Divine Cathedral after completing my 2 year seminary training through The New Seminary Center for Interfaith Ministries in NYC. I have received advanced certification in spiritual couseling from One Spirit Interfaith Seminary, also in NYC. I am a member of Spiritual Directors International and The World Alliance for Interfaith Clergy, and I am a Reiki Master. I have joined the faculty of The New Seminary for Interfaith Ministries as Dean of the first year students.

and help others to do so.
It is the meaning of Life."

"What is Interfaith?"
Interfaith is not a religion, but rather a philosophy that honors all traditions and belief systems as having the same core truths and principles. Interfaith espouses inclusiveness... "never instead of, always in addition to..." Interfaith seeks to build bridges of tolerance, acceptance, understanding and dialogue between faith traditions, both traditional and non-conformist.

"What is Spiritual Counseling?"
"Who are you?
What matters deeply to you?
Where are you on your path?"
These are the questions I want to help you to explore. Spiritual counseling explores a deeper relationship with the spiritual aspect of being human. It is the ancient practice of helping people to tell thier sacred stories everyday, it is the process of accompanying people on their spiritual journey.
LIFE is a spiritual process, and spiritual counseling can uncover the skills of self-mastery.
You do not need to subscribe to any organized religion. All you need is a willingness to seek inner guidance and your connection to Spirit. I will not impose any belief system on you, but rather will assist you in finding or reconnecting to your own path to Spirit, however you define it.
Everyone has times when they feel anxious and fearful, tense and angry, and cannot seem to break loose from it. You may have an undesirable habit, which seems to control you. Or perhaps you replay "negative" scenarios over and over again in your mind, which causes more fear and anxiety. We can feel like we're spinning our wheels, making active choices we think will help, that we should be focused on, to get us to our desired goal. It is these very actions that get in our way and ultimately hold us back from experiencing a life of joy, excitement, enthusiasm, and peace. If you have the intent to know yourself more deeply and unconditionally, I am available to companion you on that journey.
Spiritual counseling is therapuetic, but it is not therapy. There is no diagnosis or prognosis, no labels or judgments. Spiritual directors do not claim to be able to help you with psychological difficulties, unless they also happen to be trained as psychologists or psychotherapists. Spiritual counseling can work very well in conjunction with other forms of therapy.
"What can I expect in a session?"
You will learn to be with what life is offereing you at this moment, while finding the purpose and deeper meaning, even when your life circumstances make no sense at all. I will help you discover, reconnect to, affirm, and manifest your life mission or purpose, by helping you to see difficult events or situations as opportunities for spiritual growth. Techniques to be used can include journaling, monologue-ing, role-playing, life coaching, breathing exercises, meditation, prayer, visualization, chanting and ritual to go deeply into your own stories and inner knowing to find your seeds of transformation.

Like so many other people, I've spent a considerable portion of my life looking back on painful situations and relationships in search of explanations, resolutions, and closure. After a while, this self seeking no longer worked and I found myself thinking in vicious cycles and behaving in defeatist and unhealthy ways.
Sandra's guidance is leading me to see the importance of looking forward. She shares with me the spiritual tools that help me forgive, let go and make peace with the past while preparing me to walk a more faithful, loving and serene path in my future days. -Thom C.
